A Day at Oxford= A Day of Adam's British Accent

Today was Oxford day, we woke up and Adam was making us egg breakfast sandwiches. Once we ate breakfast we got on the train to Oxford. It was packed! We had to stand almost the whole time because there were so many people.

When we got to Oxford it was just as crowded. We headed to the information center first and booked a tour for 1pm, which meant we had time for lunch before hand. Adam took us the Eagle and the Child, which is where Tolken and CS Lewis used to meet every tuesday and eat lunch and talk about life, and their books.

Since it was 11am no one else was there eating yet so we got to sit in the room that they sat in with no distractions. It was a really cool experience. Alex kept breathing really hard, breathing the air that they breathed. We got fish and chips for lunch, it was quite good. We sat there for a bit and then headed over to the visitor center for our tour. The tour tooks us through the main parts of the campus, one of the colleges, the college church and just the city of Oxford.

It is really an amazing place, but it makes you wonder how one could focus on school in a place like that. During the tour it started to rain a bit and so after the tour we were ready for some tea, we went to a pub that the tour guide recommended after stopping in the University Bookstore. At the pub I got a tea and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

It really hit the spot. Just what I needed. Adam decided to try it also after I had been talking about it so much. He liked it. :) After our little relaxation time in the pub we walked around to Christ Church College, which is where a lot of the filming of Harry Potter took place, Adam and Alex really wanted to see it.

But when we got there it was closed to tourist for the day so instead we wandered around the grounds of the college and found a river where there was a rowing competition going on.

We sat and watched for a while, then Adam as our tour guide was like hey guys we have a ton more to see. So we hurried our little butts to another college, Magedelna College which is where CS Lewis went to school, there we walked around the cloister, the church, the grounds.

And there is this walk known as Addison's Walk, which is where CS Lewis and Tolken used to walk and talk about religion, politics, everything. Adam wanted Alex to walk alone because of its significance. He said I could walk alone as well, but I wanted to walk it with Adam, so we walked and had a really nice discussion just as I imagine Lewis and Tolken would have, we also walked through the Scholars Walk which was a nice little garden area over a bridge off Addison's Walk.

After the walk, we were hungry and it was late. So we went to this pub that the tour had taken us by, and got the traditional bangers and mash. It was sooo good. I love bangers and mash! We hung out at the pub for hours until about 10pm and then it was time to get to the train station to make sure we could get home that night. On the way back we walked past this part of one of the colleges that was used as the infirmary in Harry Potter, where they had told us earlier there was going to be a wedding reception and sure enough there were bright lights and dancing. Alex and Adam took a video, they are going to put it on Youtube, it is pretty funny though.

Anyway we made it home, worn out. We drank some tea before bed and then it was to bed with us.
